When Replacing Isn't the Answer

New Cabinetry Costs $15K–$50K. A Repaint Costs a Fraction of That.

Most Adelaide kitchens that feel dated have structurally sound cabinets — the carcasses are fine, the layout works, the hinges run. What's letting them down is the finish. Painting the doors, frames, and drawer fronts with the right preparation and products gives you the same visual result as a full replacement, for 80–90% less.

We hold SA Building License BLD 328101, carry full public liability insurance, and back cabinet painting jobs with a five-year workmanship warranty. Whether you're refreshing before a sale or just want a kitchen that doesn't embarrass you every morning, we'll give you a fixed price after seeing it in person.

What We Offer

Cabinet Painting Services

Kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, and built-ins across Adelaide. Done properly — prep and all.

Kitchen Cabinets

Doors removed and painted flat, frames masked and painted in place. We clean, sand, and prime every surface before a single drop of topcoat goes on. Flat, satin, or semi-gloss. Any colour. Most kitchens are done in three to four days and look completely transformed.

Bathroom Vanities

Timber or laminate vanities in bathrooms need moisture-resistant products — standard paint swells and peels in a humid environment within months. We use finishes specifically formulated for bathroom conditions so you're not repainting again in two years.

Built-In Wardrobes

Outdated built-ins ageing out a freshly painted bedroom. We repaint MDF, timber, and laminate wardrobes with the correct primer for each substrate — the one step most painters skip that causes delamination later.

Interior Doors & Frames

Tired doors and frames drag down an otherwise clean interior. We repaint internal doors, door frames, and architraves throughout your home — often done alongside a full interior repaint for a cohesive result.

Our Process

How We Work

Six steps, no shortcuts. This is exactly how every cabinet job runs.

01

Surface Assessment

We identify the cabinet material — timber, MDF, or laminate — and inspect the current finish. The substrate determines the primer. Getting this wrong is the most common reason cabinet paint fails.

02

Cleaning & Sanding

Every surface is degreased with sugar soap and lightly sanded to remove gloss. Grease and cooking residue build up on kitchen cabinets over years — paint applied over it won't stick, no matter how good the primer is.

03

Filling

Chips, dents, and scratches filled, sanded flush, and feathered so they disappear under paint. A factory-finish look requires a flat substrate to start with — we don't paint over imperfections and hope for the best.

04

Priming

Oil-based or adhesion-specific primer applied to all surfaces. This is the step that determines how long the finish lasts. We don't skip it or thin it out to save time — it's where the durability is built.

05

Topcoat Application

Two full coats of furniture-grade enamel applied with brush and roller. Doors painted flat to prevent sag. The result is a hard, smooth finish that handles the wear of a working kitchen.

06

Reassembly & Sign-Off

Doors re-hung, hardware refitted, hinges adjusted. We do a walk-through with you before we leave — your kitchen under your lighting, your eye on the result — and we're not done until you're satisfied.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

With proper prep and quality products, a cabinet repaint lasts 5–10 years under normal use. The difference is in what happens before paint goes on — thorough cleaning, sanding, and the right adhesion primer. Skip those steps and it peels within a year. We don't skip them.
Yes — any colour, any finish. Going from dark to light or light to dark is straightforward with the right primer sequence. A dramatic colour change may need an extra coat, which we'll factor into the quote upfront so there are no surprises.
For a proper finish, yes. We remove all doors and paint them flat — gravity does the levelling work and you don't get brush marks or sag. Frames are painted in place with careful masking. It takes longer, but it's the only way to get a result that looks factory-finished.
Yes, but only with a specialist adhesion primer — regular paint won't bond to laminate and will peel within months. We assess the laminate condition first and use the correct primer system for the substrate. If it's not paintable, we'll tell you before we quote.
Most kitchens with 15–20 door fronts, frames, and drawer fronts cost between $1,800 and $3,500. Larger kitchens or ones needing significant prep work cost more. We give you a fixed price after an in-person inspection — not a ballpark over the phone.
If the structure is sound — no water damage, drawers running properly, layout still works for you — repainting is almost always the better decision. You get the same visual result for a fraction of the cost. We'll give you an honest read when we come for the quote.
